Color and texture are fascinating properties of everyday images and are the focus of my paintings. Working in watercolor and acrylic on paper and canvas, allows the use of transparent washes of color in the same way that natural light washes color on a subject in different environments, seasons and lighting conditions. Often, the image itself is an important part of the work and often it is not. A painting may begin with a realistic subject and incorporate color and texture as design elements. Or, it may happen that a painting will develop from the experimental approach to creating surfaces in the same way that light and shadow enrich everyday images.
A graduate of Douglass College and Tyler School of Art, I have exhibited my work in many solo, group and juried shows in Princeton and throughout the Delaware Valley. I truly enjoy being included with the talented artists at the Artists' Gallery.
